The "dynamic lumbar support" program is started via the left front PULSE switch (S109s1) and lasts approximately 8 min. If the program is active, then this is indicated by the LED in the left front PULSE switch (S109s1).
Function
At first the current nominal pressure in the active lumbar support air cushions is staged. Starting with the currently active lumbar support air cushions the pulsation occurs one by one in all lumbar support air cushions in the order lower lumbar support and upper lumbar support (the order can be parameterized).
The valves in the driver seat air cushions are actuated by the left front dynamic seat control unit (N32/19) and the valves in the front passenger seat air cushions by the right front dynamic seat control unit (N32/22). The air supply that is necessary to fill the air cushions is provided by the pneumatic pump for dynamic seat control (M40/1).
The active lumbar support air cushion is filled first up to the next pressure level, except if the upper pressure level has already been reached or exceeded. After the program is finished the original pressures are restored. The
pulsation occurs in pressure jumps of p = 50 mbar upwards or downwards, so that a pressure difference of p = 100 mbar continues to be passed. The lowest pressure level corresponds to the transfer pressure. The residence time on the pressure level is t = 5 s.
