DANGER:
- Risk of injury to fingers being jammed or squeezed when removing and installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/tailgate or sliding roof.
- When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts.


1 Push paneling (1) toward rear
2 Open sliding/pop-up roof approx. 20 cm
3 Unclip covering (2) in center and on side with assembly wedge (6), remove covering (2) from rubber bellows (4)

See "Special Tools" given below.

4 Move sliding/pop-up roof to pop-up position
5 Detach rubber bellows (4) on both sides at top and bottom and remove

CAUTION: Handle rubber bellows (4) carefully, otherwise it could be damaged.

6 Close sliding / pop-up roof
7 Slacken bolts (5) of sliding/pop-up roof panel (3)
8 Insert cardboard strips (6) at rear in the sealing joint of the sliding/pop-up roof panel (3)

NOTE: Cardboard strips (6): approx.500 mm long and approx.2 mm thick.

9 Adjust sliding/pop-up roof panel (3) in relation to exterior roof surface

NOTE: Determine the measuring position (X) through the distance dimension (A).

Gap dimensions
- Sliding/pop-up roof panel, front: 0.15 mm
- Sliding/pop-up roof panel, on side and rear: 0.30 mm

Height setting
- Measuring position "A" (x):140 mm
- front and rear: deeper than the outer roof surface: 0 - 1 mm

10 Tighten bolts (5) of sliding/pop-up roof panel (3)
- Bolt of sliding/pop-up roof panel to pop-up angle bracket: 4 N.m

NOTE: First of all tighten the respective rear bolt and then the front bolt.

11 Check sliding/pop-up roof for proper function and fit
12 Move sliding/pop-up roof to pop-up position
13 Insert rubber bellows (4) on both sides at top and bottom in the guide
14 Close sliding / pop-up roof
15 Open sliding/pop-up roof approx.20 cm
16 Install covering (2)

NOTE: Position covering (2) in center and clip on.

17 Close sliding/pop-up roof
18 Push paneling (1) toward front
19 Perform teach-in procedure for sliding roof obstruction sensor
