General information
The digital TV tuner (A90/3) makes it possible to receive digital television channels in the vehicle and view them on the display of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3).

The TV mode is therefore comprised as follows:
^ Function sequence, TV signal reception
^ Function sequence, video signal
^ Function sequence, audio signal
^ Supplemental information

The TV picture is switched off as from a speed of 5 km/h. When the vehicle is moving on, audio playback remains active and - for safety reasons - a warning is shown on the display on the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.

Operating instructions
The TV functions can be selected, activated and set with the control buttons on the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.

Function requirements
^ "Circuit 15 ON" status
^ COMAND operating, display and controller unit activated via "ON" button
^ "TV" menu selected
^ TV-antenna signals available
^ TV antennas and antenna amplifier must be installed

Function sequence, TV signal reception
- TV 1 and TV 2 antenna (model 211.0, 219)
- Left antenna amplifier module (A2/64)

- TV 3 and TV 4 antenna (model 211.0, 219)
- Right antenna amplifier module (A2/65)

- TV 1 and TV 2 antenna (model 211.2)
- Right antenna amplifier module

- TV 3 and TV 4 antenna (model 211.2)
- Window antenna amplifier module 2 (A2/72)

- Direct line
- Digital TV tuner
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
- COMAND operating, display and controller unit

Function sequence, video signal
After the TV signals have been processed in the digital TV tuner, the video signals are output as follows:
- Direct Y/C line
- COMAND operating, display and controller unit

Function sequence, audio signal
After the TV signals have been processed in the digital TV tuner, the audio signals on vehicles with code 810 Sound system are sent by the digital TV tuner via the MOST to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit and via the MOST to the sound system amplifier (N40/3).From there, the signals are routed to the following speakers over direct lines:
- Left front door speaker group (H4/1)
- Right front door speaker group (H4/2)
- Left rear door speaker group (H4/3)
- Right rear door speaker group (H4/4)
- Bass box speaker (H4/17)
- Center cockpit speaker (centerfill) (H4/27)
- Left rear surround speaker (H4/54)
- Right rear surround speaker (H4/57)

The audio signal for the bass box speaker travels via MOST from the "audio equipment" to the sound system amplifier and from there, via the subwoofer amplifier (N40/9), along direct lines to the bass box speaker.

In vehicles except code 810 Sound system, the audio signals and data are output by the "Audio equipment" on the following speakers via direct lines:
- Left front door speaker group
- Right front door speaker group
- Left rear door speaker group
- Right rear door speaker group
- Center cockpit speaker (centerfill)
