1 Detach brown/red line (br/rt) from blue, 2-pin connector (28) of FSE 12 wiring harness (3).
The blue, 2-pin connector (28) is still required.
Component Identification:
Component Identification:
2 Remove cockpit voltage distributor (CAN) connector (X30/6) at left next to the AC housing (8) and open.
3 Insert black, 2-pin connector (21) of FSE 12 wiring harness (3) into a free plug position of the cockpit voltage distributor (CAN) connector (X30/6).
The black, 2-pin connector (21) of the FSE 12 wiring harness (3) can be connected to any free plug position.
4 Lock the cockpit voltage distributor (CAN) connector (X30/6) and install again at left next to the AC housing (8).
5 Fasten branch-off line with interface connector (19) of FSE 12 wiring harness (3) as shown in right footwell.
The interface connector (19) of the FSE 12 wiring harness (3) may only be fastened as from a length of 250 mm (see arrow). The interface connector (19) is connected at a later stage to the handsfree system interface.
6 Fasten FSE 12 wiring harness (3) to given lines on AC housing (8) and route further into the cable duct on the right front doorsill.
Component Identification:
7 The speaker branch-off line (11) and the speaker plug (1) are left on the right A-pillar.
The speaker plug (1) is connected at a later stage to the hands-free system speaker.
8 The microphone branch-off line (12) and the microphone connector (4) are initially left on the right A-pillar.
The microphone connector (4) is routed further at a later stage and connected to the hands-free system microphone.
The FSE 12 wiring harness (3) must be routed under the bracket (see arrow).
Component Identification:
9 Route FSE 12 wiring harness (3) from the right A-pillar at the bottom to the right cable duct and onto the right wheelhouse.
10 Route FSE 12 wiring harness (3) on the right wheelhouse into the right luggage compartment and fasten in place using cable ties.
11 Route FSE 12 wiring harness (3) from right wheelhouse further into the control unit plate in the luggage compartment to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and fasten in place using cable ties and felt straps.
12 Detach black, 6-pin AGW connector (6) of the audio gateway control unit (N93/1).
13 Remove black, 4-pin connector (7) from black, 6-pin AGW connector (6).
14 Disconnect brown line (br) from black, 4-pin connector (7) of vehicle's wiring harness and connect brown line (br) of FSE 12 wiring harness (3) into the same chamber of the black, 4-pin connector (7).
15 Disconnect brown/red line (br/rt) from black, 4-pin connector (7) of vehicle's wiring harness and connect brown/red line (br/rt) of FSE 12 wiring harness (3) into the same chamber of the black, 4- pin connector (7).
16 Install black, 4-pin connector (7) back into black, 6-pin AGW connector (6).
17 Connect brown (br) and brown/red line (br/rt) of vehicle's wiring harness into any chambers of the blue, 2-pin connector (28), lock the housing and strap down onto given wiring harness.
The brown (br) and brown/red lines (br/rt) of the vehicle's wiring harness are connected to the blue, 2-pin connector (28) to avoid any short circuits.
18 Connect black, 6-pin AGW connector (6) of the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) again.
19 Insert black, 3-pin connector (27) of FSE 12 wiring harness (3) into chamber "27" of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
The plug position "27" is mechanically coded.
20 Connect brown ground line (9) of FSE 12 wiring harness (3) to ground (left wheelhouse in luggage compartment) (W6).
21 Insert the relay (24) included in the parts kit into plug position "C" of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
22 Insert the 7.5 A fuse (25) included in the parts kit into plug position "5" of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
23 Connect antenna connector (34) of retrofitted antenna line (33) with antenna plug (32) of telephone console with PSC adapter.
24 Fasten this connection using cable ties to the vehicle's wiring harness in the front passenger footwell.
