Vehicle Does Not Start, No Communication with Star Diagnosis, Power Outlets Not Functioning
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles with any of the below symptoms, this may be due to a non functional relay in the driver side or rear SAM.
For vehicles in VIN range F057431 to F162917 or R004400 to R029520:
^ Vehicle does not start
^ Wipers not operating correctly
^ No communication with Star Diagnosis
^ Message in the instrument cluster display indicating brake lamp fault
^ Fault codes B212172, B215F71, B215F72, or B212171 "Circuit 15R malfunction" present in the driver side SAM
To resolve, replace the nonfunctional relay in the front SAM:
^ Terminal 15 relay (Figure 1, Slot J)
^ Terminal 15R relay (Figure 1, Slot K)
^ Terminal 87 relay (Figure 1, Slot N)
^ Secondary air injection pump/oil cooler relay (Figure 1, Slot P)
For vehicles in VIN range F130373 to F198707 or R020785 to R039070:
^ Vehicle does not start
^ Power outlet inoperative
^ TeleAid inoperative
To resolve, replace the nonfunctional relay in the rear SAM:
^ Terminal 15 relay (Figure 2, Slot A)
^ Fuel pump relay (Figure 2, Slot D)
^ Terminal 15R relay (Figure 2, Slot G)
