GF82.95-P-3005SK Restraint Systems Control Unit Data, Function
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system

The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) receives the messages listed below as a digital crash signal via a discrete line from the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) and also (redundant) from the central gateway control unit (N93) via the diagnosis Controller Area Network (data bus/CAN bus) (CAN). The central gateway control unit (N93) receives the message from the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) via the Controller Area Network Bus class B (interior) (CAN-B).

Crash data on diagnosis CAN

Byte no.1

Byte no.2

In the event of an accident, an automatic emergency call is made immediately. This occurs no matter how severe the detected accident actually is.

Error messages
The restraint systems control unit (N2/7) transmits a signal on a discrete line every 500 ms and also (redundantly) via diagnosis CAN. This notifies the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) that the crash detection is operating correctly.
The restraint systems control unit (N2/7) performs a cyclic self-test. Illumination of the red light emitting diode (LED) in the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) during normal operation indicates a fault in the system. The relevant fault message appears in the display of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) and the upper multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1). The red LED remains on until circuit 15 is switched off or the fault is remedied. The SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) is monitored. A stuck SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) is detected. False signals are ignored and the system remains operational.
