- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
The vehicle is equipped with the MB telematics services:
^ Roadside assistance call (telediagnosis, roadside assistance)
^ MB information call
Roadside assistance call (telediagnosis, roadside assistance)
The telediagnosis service gives the user the opportunity to contact a Service Center if a defect occurs on the vehicle, for example. The Service Center can then perform a remote diagnosis of the situation taking other vehicle-specific information into consideration and initiate appropriate effective remedial measures. Pressing the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (S93/6) automatically transmits a Short Message Service (SMS) message to the Service Center.
The following data are automatically transmitted when a roadside assistance call is made:
^ Vehicle position
^ Vehicle identification data
^ Status data
^ Fault codes
The Service Center can use SMS to request additional status data and fault codes from the emergency call system control unit (N123/4). The Service Center calls the vehicle after the data have been evaluated. This allows the exact situation and other service measures to be discussed between the driver and the Service Center.
Status reports
The status messages are output on the displays of the following components:
^ COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
^ Upper multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1)
