GF82.95-P-2006SK Voice Connection To Vehicle, Function
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
Regardless of the type of emergency call, in addition to the Short Message Service (SMS) message transmission, a voice connection is immediately established to the service center, and the user can speak with a customer service representative. If the service center is unable to establish a connection to the vehicle, the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) then attempts to establish a connection from the vehicle to the service center. Both, the emergency call and the information service are free services provided by Mercedes-Benz customer support.
The hands-free system microphone group (B25) is used for voice input. The voice output occurs exclusively via the left front emergency call speaker (H4/46) and the right front emergency call speaker (H4/47). Both are actuated discretely by the emergency call system control unit (N123/4).
Usually, the telephone connections are processed via the rod antenna (A28). The left antenna amplifier module (A2/64) splits the signals of the rod antenna (A28) into signals for the central locking (CL), the radio component of the audio source that is installed in each case, and the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI) system. The portable CTEL antenna amplifier (A28/2) controls the signals of the rod antenna (A28). In normal mode, the signals of the rod antenna (A28) are transmitted to the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit (N123/1) and vice versa. In emergency mode, the telephone signals of the rod antenna (A28) are forwarded to the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) and vice versa. In the event of a defective rod antenna (A28), e.g, after a rollover, the emergency call system left backup antenna (A2/54) and the emergency call system right backup antenna (A2/55) are integrated in the rear bumper of the vehicle.
The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) detects the antenna failure and automatically actuates the emergency call system left backup antenna (A2/54) and the emergency call system right backup antenna (A2/55) via the emergency call system antenna splitter (A2/25).
