General
The power soft top control unit (N52) sends the signal requests for control and warning messages for the Vario roof via the Controller Area Network bus, class B (interior compartment) (CAN B) to the instrument cluster (A1) and gives these priority.The check and warning messages for the Vario roof are valid for manual actuation via the Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1) as well as with the transmitter key (A8/1) via infrared signal (IR signal) (with code (880a) Closing system with infrared remote control).

Function and warning messages are:
^ Function and warning messages via display in instrument cluster (A1)
^ Warning buzzer in instrument cluster (A1)

Warning buzzer, function
The warning buzzer in the instrument cluster (A1) is actuated for max. 10 s with C. 15 ON and at a speed > 8 km/h when the Vario roof is unlocked After expiration of 10 s the warning buzzer is disabled and triggered only after:
^ C. 15 OFF changes to C. 15 ON or
^ the Vario roof changes its position or
^ the Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1) is actuated in the opposite direction of subsequent locking or
^ subsequent locking is actuated (after changing Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1) from "actuated" to "not actuated")

It is also possible to actuate the warning buzzer with C. 15C OFF, since the feedback of the locking state of the Vario roof is also required when the Vario roof is operated via the transmitter key (A8/1) with IR signal

Moreover, the warning buzzer in the instrument cluster (A1) is actuated for 20 s when the Stop mode is switched off.Actuation is started 15 minute before switching off the Stop mode.

Indicator, function
This is requested by the power soft top control unit (N52). The power soft top control unit (N52) checks the function prerequisites for the display texts in the instrument cluster (A1).

The message display is possible independently from the status of C. 15, since these messages are also required when the Vario roof is operated via the transmitter key (A8/1) with IR signal

Priority X means that these messages can be transmitted parallel to the remaining messages Otherwise, the power soft top control unit (N52) transmits only one message to the instrument cluster (A1) with the corresponding priority.
