CHECK SPRING ON SECONDARY HOOD LATCH, REPLACE HOOD LATCH IF NECESSARY
This Service Campaign has been initiated because DAG has determined that the spring on the hood latch of the subject vehicles may have been installed incorrectly resulting in a lower spring tension on the secondary latch than specified. The dealer will check for proper spring position and replace the hood latch if necessary.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the procedure steps exactly as described.
Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.
Approximately 303 vehicles are affected.
1. Check spring (arrow, Figure 1) on secondary hood latch for proper installation (Figure 1).
Note:
The spring must be installed as shown (Figure 1).
^ If spring is properly installed (Figure 1) procedure is complete.
^ If spring is not properly installed proceed to step 2.
2. Install new hood latch:
^ Remove two bolts securing hood latch to hood then remove latch. Install new hood latch and torque bolts to 8 Nm.

Repairs performed using any other part(s) will not have been performed in accordance with the campaign. Accordingly, warranty claims submitted with reference to an improper part number(s) will be denied.
