Component Identification:
Location
The left front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1) is located under the left front seat.
Task
- Control of seat adjustment in accordance with the requests sent over the interior CAN (CAN B)
- Storage of memory settings for seat, steering column and outside mirrors (for right-hand drive vehicles memory settings for seat only)
- Control of easy entry/exit (LHD only)
- Seat heater control with code (873) Left and right front seat heaters
- Seat ventilation control (with code (401) Front comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation)
- Seat belt comfort fit feature
- Actuation of rear compartment access
- Actuation of collision avoidance
These are grouped as follows:
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluating input factors
^ Actuation of components
Reading in of sensors and signals
These input factors are read in via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN
Direct line
- Circuit 30
- Circuit 31
The following sensors are read in via direct lines:
- Left front restraint system seat belt buckle switch (S68/3) with code (494) USA version
- Vehicle-sensitive seat belt lock sensor (A60)
- Left rear compartment access switch (S137)
- Hall sensors of the seat adjustment motors
- Left multicontour backrest control unit (N32/15)
Interior CAN
The switch signals for the left seat adjustment switch group (S91/2) are read in voltage-coded by the left door control unit (N69/1), sent to the interior CAN and sent to the left front seat adjustment control unit with memory.
Evaluation of input factors
The read in input parameters are evaluated by the left front seat adjustment control unit with memory. The actuation of the motors for the seat adjustment takes place via integrated relays.
Actuating components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN
Direct line
The following consumers are actuated over direct lines:
- Left front seat adjustment motor group with memory (M27)
- Seat heater and seat ventilation (special equipment)
- Seat belt comfort fit feature
Interior CAN
The stored seat, steering column and outside mirror positions (seat positions only for right-hand drive vehicles) are sent when requested by the left seat adjustment switch group (S91/2) to the interior CAN. The signals are sent to the left door control unit (N69/1), right door control unit (N69/2) or the driver SAM control unit (N10/10) over the interior CAN
