Function requirements
^ Circuit 15C"OFF"
^ Voltage not to high or too low
^ Trunk lid and locking pawl closed (CAN message from rear SAM control module (N10/8))
^ Trunk partition closed (CAN message from pneumatic control module (A37))
^ Roll bar crash actuation not active
^ Press "Lock/unlock" button on remote control key (A8/1) for longer than 1 s and hold down
^ Actuation request from remote control key (A8/1) until Vario roof is completely open or closed (CAN message from door control module (N69/1 or N69/2)

Here, the vehicle speed is irrelevant.

Convenience closing, function
When the "Unlock vehicle" button on the remote control key (A8/1) is pressed for longer than 1 s, the Vario roof convenience closing signal is transmitted.
The signal is received either by the front left infrared remote control receiver (A26/1) or front right infrared remote control receiver (A26/2). When the function prerequisites are fulfilled, the corresponding left or right door control module (N69/1) or (N69/2)respectively, transmits the command for convenience closing to the passenger compartment CAN bus.
The RVC control module (N52) receives the CAN message to "Convenience closing" and activates the RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5) which closes the Vario roof.

If the "Convenience closing" actuation request is transmitted via the remote control key (A8/1) again after the Vario roof is closed and locked, all four side windows are closed rather than the subsequent locking feature becoming active.

Convenience opening, function
The convenience opening feature is performed analogously to the convenience closing feature, however in the opposite order.

During convenience opening, the subsequent locking function is also replaced by opening all four side windows.

Function interruption
^ When the button on the remote control key (A8/1) is released, the Vario roof sequence is interrupted immediately at any time for safety reasons (Stop function).
^ Roll bar crash actuation active
^ Temperature in hydraulic unit (A7/5) too high (warning in instrument cluster)

Vario roof convenience opening and closing are not possible with the transmitter card (A8/2).
