GF82.95-P-2005RM Emergency Call Telegram Transmission, Function
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
In the event of an emergency call, all telephone connections and service calls (MB-Info or roadside assistance calls) currently active are interrupted. The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) sends an emergency call telegram to the nearest emergency call center and then always establishes a telephone connection to the emergency call center. If an emergency call was triggered automatically, but it was not possible to make a connection to the emergency call center, then a telephone connection to the police emergency number ("911") is automatically established. In such case, no emergency call data are transmitted. The emergency call must then be made verbally. For a manual emergency call, the switchover to the emergency call number can be configured as required.
The emergency call system must be authorized to transmit an emergency call telegram.
Normally, the telephone connections are established via the telephone antenna (A2/22). If the standard telephone antenna should happen to malfunction (A2/22), such as due to a vehicle rollover, there is also a TELE AID backup antenna located in the area of the rear shelf (A2/50). The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) detects the failure of the telephone antenna and then automatically actuates the TELE AID backup antenna (A2/50).
