Poor Engine Running Characteristics at Low Temperatures and High Altitude Areas
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicle of the engine stalling when engaging gears while stationary or a delay in acceleration after a cold start, update the variant coding of the CDI5 engine control to resolve. The condition occurs mainly when outside temperatures are below 32°F (0°C) in high altitude areas (altitudes over 8,202 feet above mean sea level). Flash the CDI5 engine control unit using (DAS 05/08 or higher) Star Diagnosis menu item "Perform SCN coding".
Note:
Copy of the SDS short test and all tests performed must accompany returned parts. If the documentation is missing or does not support the diagnosis, the warranty claim may be debited.
