Uncomfortable Shift Quality in Partial Load Ranges / Affecting Upshifts 1-2, 2-3 and Downshifts 3-2, 2-1

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicle of uncomfortable shift quality in partial-load ranges, affecting upshifts 1-2, 2-3 and downshifts 3-2, 2-1, the cause is a variation in the engine torque signals at the engine/transmission interface. This condition can be resolved by flashing the engine control module with the update found in the 08/08 SDS release. After flashing the motor control module, proceed with flashing the transmission control module if newer SW is available.

NOTE:

- The engine/transmission control module must be SCN coded after the flashing process and the affected shifts may require re-adaptation.

- The following allowable labor operations should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair. This information has been generated on October 16, 2008. Please refer to Netstar -> Star TekInfo -> Star Time for the most current labor time allowance.
