GF07.16-P-2002P CDI Idle Speed, Function

GF07.16-P-2002P CDI Idle Speed, Function
ENGINE 642.9 in MODEL 164.1 /8, 203.0 /2, 204.0 /2, 221.0 /1, 251.0 /1 up to model year 2008
/YoM 07
ENGINE 642.8 /9 in MODEL 461.3
ENGINE 642.9 in MODEL 463.3 up to 31.5.12
ENGINE 642.9 in MODEL 209.3 /4, 211.0 /2 /6, 219.3

The following are some of the functions that are active when the engine is on idle:
^ Fuel supply, to provide the correct quantity of fuel in the current operating state
^ Preinjection, to improve the exhaust emission values and reduce noise emissions
^ Main injection: The main quantity calculated by the CDI control unit (N3/9) and supplied to the individual cylinders
^ Idle speed control, to keep idle speed constant while taking account of the different variables
^ Quantity regulation: The required injection quantity for idle is calculated and regulated by the CDI control unit, taking account of the different variables
^ Shutoff control, to stop the engine when there is a "circuit 15 OFF" status
^ Antiboil protection, to protect the engine from overheating
^ Smooth running control, to ensure smooth engine operation
^ Exhaust gas cleaning, to reduce exhaust emissions
^ Intake port shutoff (EKAS), to improve the combustion process (except model 461)
^ Preheating, to assist combustion and improve the exhaust emission values
^ Maximum heating combustion: (from 1.6.07) on model 221, more engine heat is conducted into the coolant using a new combustion strategy. This improves the heating in the vehicle interior. For vehicles (not with code (228) stationary heater), this process replaces the stationary heater or heater booster (A6).
