Component Identification:






The displays in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) and the settings in the operating system can be controlled via the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel. The standard display always appears when the instrument cluster is activated. The system selection button is used to display the individual menus, the scroll forward/back button is used to display the submenus.
A submenu is selected with the button + and -, setting of specific functions and volume control. The scroll forward/back button is used to select a function within a submenu. The settings themselves are performed with the button + and -, setting of specific functions and volume control.

The display only shows systems and functions available in the particular vehicle. If a system is not present, it is "skipped" when the system selection button is pressed.

Confirm malfunction and warning messages
These messages are divided into 3 categories according to their priority. Messages of categories 2 and 3 in the multifunction display can be acknowledged by pressing the instrument illumination brightness control and reset button (A1r1) or the system selection button. Messages of category 1 (highest priority) cannot be acknowledged. Indicator or warning lamps that light up at the same time cannot be acknowledged.

Certain fault and warning messages are also accompanied by a chime. A signal always sounds when faults and warning messages are displayed.

The fault and warning messages are not stored in the fault memory.

Workshop level
The standard display switches to the workshop level if the instrument illumination brightness control and reset button is pressed 3 times in succession within 2 s. The scroll forward/back button is used to switch between the following submenus:
^ On-board electrical system voltage display
^ Instrument cluster data
^ Dynamometer test mode
^ Chassis number
^ Service menu
