Heater Core: Service and Repair
AR83.25-P-1100T Remove/Install Heat Exchanger
Shown on convenience evaporator housing:
1 Remove evaporator housing
2.1 Disconnect evaporator housing
- On vehicles without code (581b) comfort automatic air conditioning
2.2 Remove right center nozzle air flap actuator motor
- On vehicles with code (581b) convenience automatic air conditioning
3.1 Unscrew bolts (1) and detach the center outlet flap actuator motor (M2/22)
- On vehicles without code (581b) comfort automatic air conditioning
3.2 Unscrew bolts (1) and detach the actuator motor for left center nozzle air flap (M2/12)
- On vehicles with code (581b) convenience automatic air conditioning
4 Disconnect electric connector (2)
5 Expose positive lead and ground lead of the heater booster at the evaporator housing
- On MODELS 211.004/006/016/026/028/042/043/206/216/226/242/243
6 Detach seal (3)
NOTE: Installation: replace seal (3).
7 Detach bracket (5, 6) at evaporator housing
8 Unscrew bolt (10)
9 Open clamp (9) of clamping bracket (11) in direction of arrow (arrow A), then slide out the clamping bracket (11) in direction of arrow (arrow B)
10 Unclip clamps (4)
11 Detach evaporator housing (8)
12 Remove heat exchanger (7)
NOTE: Do not damage sealing tape on the heat exchanger (7).
13 Install in the reverse order.
