Function
The transmitter key (A8/1) transmits an infrared signal to the left front IR Receiver unit (A26/1) or right front IR receiver unit (A26/2) (vehicles with code (494) USA version or code (498) Japan version). The overhead control panel control unit (N70) receives the "Comfort opening" request from the interior CAN and then actuates the sliding sunroof lining motor (M12/5m1) (if extended), which first opens the sliding sunroof lining on the panoramic sliding roof.
If the sliding sunroof lining is open, release the "Unlock" button on the transmitter key (A8/1) and actuate again. The Panorama sliding roof motor (M12/6m1) is then activated by the overhead control panel control unit (N70) moving the panorama sliding roof to the "Pop-up position". To continue opening the panorama sliding roof it is necessary to release the "Unlock" button on the transmitter key (A8/1) and press it again and hold it down.
The panorama sliding roof motor (M12/6m1) is then activated by the overhead control panel control unit (N70) and the panorama sliding roof moves to the desired end position.
The "Comfort opening" function via the right front IR receiver unit (A26/2) is only valid in United States of America and Japan.
The "Open sliding headliner" and "Open panorama/sliding roof" is executed as long as the "Unlock" button on the transmitter key (A8/1) is pressed.
The convenience opening function also opens the windows.
Function interrupted if
^ the request is no longer received via interior CAN.
^ the function requirements listed above are no longer satisfied.
