AR68.30-P-4300-04T Prepare Headliner For Installing Parktronic System Warning Display In Rear
- with CODE (220a) Parktronic System (PTS)


Workshop Equipment:










1. Saw off cutting template (5) from old headliner (1).
Saw through old headliner (1) approx. 5 cm in front of cutout for PTS warning display (4).

2.1. Saw recesses out of cutting template (5) along dotted line in area of retaining hook (2).
Model 211.2 only

4. Remove installation frame (6) out of cutting template (5)
5. Support the new headliner (1) in the area of the cutout for the PTS warning indicator (4) with suitable spacers, e.g. foamed material or Styrofoam blocks.
Do not use any hard or sharp-edged objects, otherwise the covering of the new headliner (1) will be damaged.
Installing shims below the spacers prevents the new headliner (1) from sagging and eliminates damage when performing the following steps.

6. Place cutting template (5) onto new headliner (1) and align.
7. Record cutout for PTS warning indicator (4) onto new headliner (1).
8. Remove cutting template (5) from new headliner (1).
9. Saw cutout for PTS warning indicator (4) out of new headliner (1).
Use metal sawing blade, otherwise headliner (1) can be damaged.
Saw out within the recorded cutting line, otherwise the cutout for the PTS warning indicator (4) is too large.







10. Bend retaining lug (7) on left side 90° toward outside at intended bending point (arrows B) with suitable pliers.
Carefully bend, so that the installation frame (6) can bend.
Use new installation frame (6).

11. Insert installation frame (6) from below into the new headliner.
Observe installation position: The retaining string (arrow A) should be located on the right side (toward front of the vehicle).

12. Bend retaining lug (7) on right side 90° toward outside at intended bending point (arrows B) with suitable pliers.
Carefully bend, so that the installation frame (6) can bend.







13. Bend the retainer tabs (8) of the installation frame (6) using a plastic mallet.
At the same time the installation frame (6) must be supported from below with a suitable clean object. Otherwise the installation frame (6) can bend.
