Component Identification:






The special signal operating unit (audio and light) (A48) consists of the control unit and a control field. The functions of the special signal system are controlled by actuating the buttons on the operating unit of the special signal operating unit (audio and light) (A48).

The operating unit is subdivided into three sections:

Section 1 (a)
1 Sequence of tones - endurance test
2 Sequence of tones - operability
3 Identification lamps
4 City/country switchover (for sequence of tones signal)
5 vacant
6 Front flash or rear warning lamps

Section 2 (b)
7 Flashing headlamps
8 Turn signal lamps
9 Stop signal transmitter STOP POLICE (text mirrored)
10 vacant
11 Rear stop signal transmitter (add-on control unit): PLEASE FOLLOW ME
12 Rear stop signal transmitter (add-on control unit): STOP POLICE

13 Microphone announcements
14 Incoming two-way radio (central)
15 Information of radio/recorder
16 vacant
17 Volume control (for buttons 13 up to 15)
18 Volume control (with integral microphone)

To avoid operating errors, the buttons are illuminated and are equipped with a cycled feedback.

The LCD with its large reading angle offers a good overview of the functions that are switched on.

Operating instructions
^ Various functions (modules) can be allocated to a certain button depending on the lettering of the operating field.
^ Some buttons have a double function (switching a module on and off). Some buttons are locked together.
^ A function indicator is allocated to each button: some function indicators are used to display errors (frame flashes on and off) as required.
^ Buttons that are not operating (e.g., no add-on control unit exists) can be recognized through different "chime signals".
^ Furthermore, the so-called rear warning lamps can be actuated.
