Retrofit for Roof Placement of the Telephone and GPS Antenna with Relevant Wiring Harness
As of Model year 2007 (June 30, 2006 production), the telephone and GPS antenna is relocated to the roof, rather than on the rear window. As of June 2006, all spare part roof panels will have an opening for this antenna.
If a vehicle produced prior to June 2006 requires a new roof panel, it should be retrofitted with this new configuration and the antenna on the rear window should be removed together with its wiring harness.
A. Retrofit Instructions
1. Remove the existing antenna and wiring harness.
2. Fit the new antenna to the roof.
3. Install the new antenna along with the dependent wiring harnesses. See WIS document AN82.62-p-0001-04T.
4. Seal the previously used cable hole in each side wall with a 27 mm stop plug (Figure 2). See parts information below.
Note:
When replacing the wiring harness, the 6 expansion rivets (Figure 3) that were removed to take off the body shell cover of the trunk lid must be replaced. Once used and removed these rivets are not reusable and will not properly reseal to prevent water from entering the trunk.
NOTE:
Any vehicles requiring antenna replacement, where the existing one is already fitted on the roof, will only need the new antenna and not a wiring harness.
