GF82.95-P-2006TM Voice Connection To Vehicle, Function
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
A voice connection to the service center is established at the same time as the SMS message is sent, regardless of the type of emergency call, and the user can speak to a customer service representative. If the service center is unable to establish a connection to the vehicle, the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) then attempts to establish a connection from the vehicle to the service center. Both, the emergency call and the information service are free services provided by Mercedes-Benz customer support.
The hands-free system microphone group (A67b1) is used for voice input. The voice output occurs exclusively via the left front speaker (H4/9) and the right front speaker (H4/10). Both speakers are discretely actuated by the emergency call system control unit (N123/4). The telephone connections are normally processed via the telephone antenna (A2/22) (model 211.2) or the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) (model 211.0) (up to 31.5.06), or the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) (as of 1.6.06), which is located on the roof. In the event one of these antennas is defective, e.g. after a rollover, 2 emergency antennas, designated as emergency call backup antenna (A2/50), are provided in the rear bumper of the vehicle. The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) detects the antenna failure and consequently actuates the emergency antennas automatically.
