Switch-on characteristics/TELE AID emergency call
The TELE AID emergency call system is switched on by turning the transmitter key (A8/1) to "circuit 15R ON" or "circuit 15 ON". The indicator lamp in the SOS switch (S93/3s1) lights up to indicate that the system is switched on. Additionally, the telecommunications control unit (N112) expects a ready confirmation from the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) after it is switched on. The system is operational as soon as the ready confirmation is received. If the system is not authorized, an error message appears in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) and the indicator lamp in the SOS switch (S93/3s1) is illuminated.

Switch-off characteristics/TELE AID emergency call
^ The TELE AID emergency call is switched off when the transmitter key (A8/1) is in position "circuit 15C ON" , no emergency call is active and the telephone is not set to shut off delay.

The telephone system can be set to shut-off delay in order to continue a telephone conversation for a certain time in spite of "circuit 15R OFF".

^ For control of the telephone system TELE AID remains also active during the telephone run-on, however, it is not possible to activate an emergency call .
^ During a call TELE AID is only then switched off when the emergency call is terminated.
^ If an authorization is in progress while switching off, the authorization is interrupted and TELE AID switched off.

Switch-on characteristics of TELE AID telediagnosis
The TELE AID telediagnosis system is always ready for operation, even if the transmitter key (A8/1) is in position "circuit 15C ON" and the telediagnosis pushbutton switch in the armrest is actuated correspondingly. The telephone should be switched on (stand-by mode) and the TELE AID telediagnosis system should be authorized. If the system is not authorized, an error message appears in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) to indicate that the system is not ready for operation.

Switch-off characteristics of TELE AID telediagnosis
When the telephone is switched off TELE AID telediagnosis is deactivated.
