Panic alarm
The panic alarm can only be started via the transmitter key (A8/1) (panic alarm transmit button pressed for 1 s)
The panic alarm can be terminated by actuating again (briefly pressing panic alarm on remote control) or by inserting the transmitter key (A8/1) into the transmitter key opening in the EIS control module (N73).

The panic alarm has priority over the ATA [EDW] alarm. If both alarms are set, the panic alarm is emitted. The panic alarm function and the alarm duration are programmable via diagnosis.

Operating procedure
The signal of the transmitter key (A8/1) is received by the vehicle and is relayed to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via the CAN class B bus after the transmitter key code is checked by the EIS control module (N73).
The rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) starts an optical and acoustic alarm according to national regulations.
The optical alarm is output by the vehicle lighting The acoustic alarm is output by the alarm signal horn.
