Removal and Replacement

AR82.85-P-1000T Remove/Install Comand Operating, Display and Control Module
- with CODE (526) COMAND (without navigation)
- with CODE (527) COMAND APS (with navigation)
- with CODE (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer
- with CODE (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)






1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Remove ashtray housing (1) from front center console
3 Unclip fiber optical cable (2) from bracket (3) towards the front
4 Unclip electrical connector (4) from bracket (3)

NOTE: Number of electrical connectors (4) depends on configuration

5 Unscrew bolts (5)
6 Pull kinematics stowage compartment (6) out of center console until bolts (7) are accessible, and put to one side
7 Unscrew bolts (7) counterclockwise as far as possible
8 Pull COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) out of the center console until the fiber optical cable connector and the electrical plug socket at the rear of the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) are accessible
9 Disconnect fiber optical cable connector and the electrical plug socket at the rear of the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) and remove COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3)
10 Cover fiber optical cable
11 Install in the reverse order
