- It is not possible to teach in the selection range sensor after removing/installing component Y3/8 (Electric control unit (VGS)).An error message occurs during initial startup with STAR DIAGNOSIS, although the shift rod is adjusted correctly.
- The error message reads: the prerequisites are not fulfilled or the peripherals are not operational.
Cause

- When installing component Y3/8 (Electric control unit (VGS)), the retaining bolt of the detent plate was not inserted into the plastic bracket of the selector range valve.
Remedy

- Remove component Y3/8 (Electric control unit (VGS)).
- Install component Y3/8 (Electric control unit (VGS)), ensuring that the retaining bolt is inserted into the plastic bracket of the selector range valve.
- Teach in component Y3/8s1 (Selection range sensor (VGS)).
