GF27.10-P-3028GZ Key-P Function

GF27.10-P-3028GZ Key-P function
- Transmission 722.9

Key-P is used to summarize the functions which serve to prevent the vehicle from inadvertently rolling away in addition the parking brake. These include locking gear selector switch position "P", locking the ignition switch as well as the park pawl in the transmission. The function Key-P only permits switching out of gear selector switch position "P", if the transmitter key (A8/1) has been turned into position "circuit 15 ON" and the brake pedal is pressed.

Model 221 up to 31.8.06, model 164 and model 261 up to 31.6.07
In order to ensure that with "terminal 15 OFF" and a parked vehicle gear selector switch "P" is shifted, gear selector switch position "P" is automatically shifted by the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80), as soon as the transmitter key is removed from the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73). The vehicle is secured mechanically by blocking the park pawl gear.

On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go the system also switches into gear selector position "P", if the driver door is opened after parking the vehicle.

Model 216, model 221 as of 1.9.06, model 164 and model 261 as of 1.6.07
The gear selector switch position "P" is automatically shifted by the Intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT for the following function requirements:
^ Circuit 15 OFF
^ Driver door OPEN

The vehicle is secured mechanically by blocking the park pawl gear.

If it is not possible to implement the Key-P function, for example because of under voltage in the on-board electrical system, then the emergency-P function is activated.
