Noise from Weight Sensing Seat Sensor

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of jarring/creaking noises coming from the bottom cushion in the area of the weight sensing seat (WSS) sensors, follow the instructions below to remedy.

1. Access (do not remove) the WSS by removing the seat trim panels (refer to WIS document AR91.10-P-1200SX) to expose the WSS bearings (Figure 1).

2. Apply special lubricant (A000 989 36 60) and grease (A002 989 07 51) to the WSS bearing (Figure 2).

3. If after performing the above steps, the noise is still present replace the seat adjuster (A221 910 30 910 30 36) by following WIS instruction AR91.10-P-1450SX.

The special lubricant is also included in the Noise Dampening Service Kit (A000 580 03 50).
