GF91.40-P-2001SC Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) System - Function

Function
Independently from the restraint systems control unit (N2/7), the vehicle-sensitive belt lock sensor (A60) monitors the instantaneous acceleration and the incline angle of the vehicle. If one of the variables exceeds the permissible limit value, the signal for locking the respective front belt extraction is transmitted via the left front seat control unit (N32/1) and the right front seat control unit (N32/2).

The respective seat control unit actuates the left front seat belt lock relay (K18/2) and right front seat belt lock relay (K18/3) for locking purposes.

The seat control units receive a continuous signal from the vehicle-sensitive belt lock sensor. It can be used to recognize errors in the actuation circuits of the belt lock relays.

Errors occurring are displayed in the instrument cluster (A1).
