Component Identification:

Location
The steering column module control unit is located on the steering column.

General
The steering column module control unit is to the chassis CAN and to the steering LIN for data exchange.
Communication takes place between the multifunction steering wheel and the steering column module control unit via the steering LIN.

Looping through of signals
The steering column module control unit is connected directly with the fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact. The following components are connected to the steering column module control unit, however are not actuated, but are only looped through.
^ From the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) to the
- Driver airbag squib 1 (R12/13) and to the
- Driver airbag squib 2 (R12/14).
