Complaint
The COMAND unit (A40/3) performs resets by itself and can only be operated for short periods.

Note:
The complaint occurs only when CDs/DVDs are loaded.

Cause
If there are CDs or DVDs in the COMAND unit (A40/3), the cause may be an implausible track database.

Remedy
After a reset the COMAND unit (A40/3) can be operated again for a short time.

1. In this time period the "Eject" button should be pressed in order to eject the CDs/DVDs in the drive. The resets no longer occur when the CDs/DVDs have been removed.

2. Export the customer's data from the COMAND unit (A40/3) onto an SD card (see attachment for instructions)

3. Perform a reset of the customer's data (important: all the customer's data, such as navigation destinations, address book entries etc. will be lost)

4. Update the COMAND software to software release 11/37.02 or higher using Xentry Diagnostics Available as of telematics CD 01/2012 or newer.

5. Reinstall the customer's data saved on the SD card back onto the COMAND unit.
