The clutch pedal switch is located at the top left of the clutch pedal.

The clutch pedal switch is located on the right and the start enable clutch pedal switch is located on the upper left of the clutch pedal.

1 Clutch pedal switch
1.1 Task
When the clutch pedal is operated the idle speed is stabilized as well as the cruise control function and deceleration fuel shutoff are deactivated by the ME control unit (N3/10).

1.2 Function
The switch has a switching contact which switches to ground (normally closed contact). When inactive the switching contact is closed.

The switching contact opens when the clutch pedal is actuated.

This is detected by the ME control unit and evaluated accordingly.

2 Start enable clutch pedal switch (USA version)
2.1 Task
The additional start enable clutch pedal switch ensures that the engine can only be started when the clutch pedal is fully depressed.

2.2 Function
The switch has a switching contact (normally open contact) that switches to ground. The switching contact is open in the position of rest.
The switching contact closes when the clutch pedal is actuated as far as the stop. This is detected by the ME control unit and evaluated accordingly.
