Location
The reversible emergency tensioning retractors are located in the respective B-pillar.

Task
The reversible emergency tensioning retractors perform the following tasks:
^ Reducing the existing seat belt slack
^ Fixing the occupants in position in the seats
^ Retain seat belt force
^ Release seat belt force

The reversible emergency tensioning retractors are connected via the chassis CAN to the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4), which transmits the signal for activating the reversible emergency tensioning retractors.
