SRS Light Illuminated / DTC 9CFE

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the SRS light in the instrument cluster is illuminated and airbag control unit DTC 9CFE (squib for on-board electrical network line pyrofuse has excessively high resistance) is stored, there may be a faulty contact between the pyrofuse and prefuse box.

Note:
Do not replace the prefuse box or the entire wiring harness! A repair kit for the contact (Figure 1) is available as a replacement part.

Repair Procedure

1. Perform Quick Test.

2. Disconnect battery ground line.

3. Check resistance of ignition circuit with component F32f88 (pyrofuse) as described in Star Diagnosis.

4. Gain access to the prefuse box (refer to WIS document AR54.15-P-1330CW, steps 1 through 3); it is not necessary to remove the prefuse box.

5. Disconnect contact of pyrofuse from prefuse box.
