Y16/2 Heating system shutoff valve

The shutoff valve is located behind the left cylinder bank on the engine coolant outlet.

Task
Close shutoff valve for coolant circuit to heating system for quicker heating of the engine after a cold start.

Design
The shutoff valve is fitted with solenoids with a coil resistance of about 12 ohms to 25°C.

Function
The shutoff valve is actuated as required by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) by means of a ground signal. The shutoff valve opened without a current.
The shutoff valve is always opened (not actuated) for a switched on vehicle heating.
