Body/Frame - Minor Collision Damage Repair Information

Date: May 6, 2009

Order No.: P-B-60.00/20

Group: 60

SUBJECT: MY-All, Model 204

Slight Collision Damage and Component Repairs

When slight collision damage has occurred, the following components may be repaired:

^ Retaining tabs on the engine compartment paneling at the front axle carrier (Figure 1).

^ Cooling module component brackets and mountings (Figures 2 and 3).

^ Exhaust system tailpipe where deformation has occurred (Figure 4).

A. Front Axle Carrier

Note the deformed area on front axle carrier (model 204.9) after the engine compartment paneling has torn away in the area (A) of the radiator support (Figure 2). Damage to the axle carrier can be prevented by deforming the retaining tabs (Figure 3). Only the retaining tabs for the engine compartment paneling may be reshaped.

B. Radiator or Condenser

Should the lower radiator support (Figure 2) be broken, the radiator support can be replaced with part number listed below.

C. Radiator Retaining Clamps (Figure 3)

Broken plastic brackets can be replaced. See EPC-net for the correct part.

D. Cooling Module Components

Note that as long as cooling module components are still leakproof, they do not have to be replaced should any of the following occur:

^ Slight dents on the radiator lamella, condenser, fuel cooler, steering cooler, or charge air cooler

^ Slight deformation to the mounting brackets. (These can be repaired by rebending into shape.)

^ Slight deflection of the condenser or fuel cooler. (These can also be reshaped.)

E. Exhaust System Tailpipe Damage

If no other damage to the exhaust system is evident, slight deformation of the tailpipe can be repaired (Figure 4).
