GF80.45-P-0003CW Convenience Feature (CF), Function
General information
The convenience feature allows to centrally open or close the windows and the tilting/sliding roof (with code (414) electric glass tilting/sliding roof) or panoramic roof (with code (413) panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding sunroof) from various control points.
The convenience feature allows the following subfunctions:
^ Convenience feature via transmitter key (A8/1)
- Convenience closing/opening of windows and tilting/sliding roof or panoramic roof
^ Convenience feature via air recirculation function (not United States Of America)
- Convenience closing/opening of windows and tilting/sliding roof or panoramic roof
^ Convenience feature via Keyless-Go (with code (889) Keyless Go)
- Convenience closing of windows and tilting/sliding roof or panoramic roof
Convenience opening with Keyless-Go is not possible.
Convenience feature via transmitter key
Function requirements
^ C. 15C OFF
^ Doors closed
^ Voltage not to high or too low
^ Power window, tilting/sliding roof and panoramic roof normalized
The status of the circuit is stored by the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) on the interior CAN. The status of the doors is read in by the left front door control unit (N69/1), right front door control unit (N69/2), left rear door control unit (N69/3) or right rear door control unit (N69/4) and is transmitted to the interior CAN.
Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key
Actuate and hold lock or unlock button on transmitter key for t > 2 s while aiming transmitter key at infrared remote control receiver on driver side front door (A26/1). The signal is received by the infrared receiver and relayed to the left front door control unit. It transmits the signal via the interior CAN to the following control units:
^ Right front door control unit
^ Left rear door control unit
^ Right rear door control unit
^ Overhead control panel control unit (N70) (with code (414) electric glass tilting/sliding roof) or to panoramic sliding roof control unit (A98) (with code (413) panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding sunroof)
^ Then the windows are opened and closed by the control units with the
- left front door power window motor (M10/3),
- right front door power window motor (M10/4),
- left rear door power window motor (M10/5),
- right rear door power window motor (M10/6),
^ the tilting/sliding roof with the tilting/sliding roof motor (M12m1) (with code (414) electric glass tilting/sliding roof)
^ or the panoramic roof with the panoramic sliding roof motor (A98m1) (with code (413) panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding sunroof)
at a time offset of t = 80 ms.
On vehicles with panoramic roof, the roller sun blind is opened before the panoramic sunroof is opened with the convenience feature. The panoramic sunroof is opened only after a new opening request.
With convenience closing, the roller sun blind is actuated only after the panoramic sunroof is closed completely or when a new request is present.
For this purpose the panoramic sliding roof control unit (A98) actuates the panoramic sliding roof roller sun blind drive unit (M12/5).
Convenience feature via air recirculation function
Function requirements
^ Circuit 15 On
^ Window, tilting/sliding roof or panoramic roof open
^ Power window, tilting/sliding roof and panoramic roof normalized
Function sequence for convenience closing via air recirculation function
Actuate air recirculation button (N22/7s2) on automatic air conditioning control and operating unit (N22/7) for longer than t = 1.5 s to actuate convenience feature
The automatic air conditioning control and operating unit then transmits the signal "Convenience closing" via the interior CAN to the following control units:
^ Front door control units
^ Rear door control units
^ Overhead control panel control unit or panoramic sliding roof control unit
The control units store the corresponding position of the windows and the roof.
Then
^ the windows are closed with the power window motors,
^ the tilting/sliding roof with the sliding/tilting roof motor or the panoramic roof with the panoramic sliding roof motor with a time offset of t = 80 ms.
Function sequence for convenience opening via air recirculation function
Actuate air recirculation button on automatic air conditioning control and operating unit for longer than t = 1 s to actuate convenience opening.
The automatic air conditioning control and operating unit then transmits the signal "Convenience opening" via the interior CAN to the following control units:
^ Front door control units
^ Rear door control units
^ Overhead control panel control unit or panoramic sliding roof control unit
Then
^ the windows are closed with the power window motors,
^ the tilting/sliding roof with the tilting/sliding roof motor or the panoramic roof with the panoramic roof sliding roof motor at a time offset of t = 80 ms to position stored before convenience closing.
Convenience feature via Keyless Go
Function requirements
^ Circuit 15 Off
^ One transmitter key is located outside the vehicle and in the vicinity (s = 1 m) of the actuated KEYLESS-GO door handle (A17/1, A17/2, A17/3 or A17/4)
^ Doors closed and vehicle locked
^ Power window, tilting/sliding roof and panoramic roof normalized
Function sequence for convenience feature via Keyless Go
If one of the comfort sensors on the outside of the KEYLESS-GO door handle is touched for longer than t = 2 s, the Keyless-Go control unit (N69/5) transmits the signal "Convenience closing" via the interior CAN to the following control units:
^ Front door control units
^ Rear door control units
^ Overhead control panel control unit or panoramic sliding roof control unit
Then
^ the windows are closed with the power window motors,
^ the tilting/sliding roof with the tilting/sliding roof motor or the panoramic roof with the panoramic roof sliding roof motor with a time offset of t = 80 ms
For this purpose the panoramic sliding roof control unit actuates the panoramic sliding roof roller sun blind drive unit.
Convenience closing is interrupted in the following cases:
^ when another comfort sensor is touched,
^ when the comfort sensor is no longer touched,
^ after max. t = 90 s
^ If another central locking command is present
If the same KEYLESS-GO door handle is pulled during comfort closing, or max. t = 2 s thereafter, emergency opening is activated. In this case, the windows, the tilting/sliding roof or the panoramic sliding roof are actuated in the opening direction. Actuation is performed for min. t = 2 s or as long as the KEYLESS-GO door handle is pulled, max. t = 90 s.
