GF80.20-P-4009CW Automatic Locking, Function
GF80.20-P-4009CW Automatic Locking, Function
Function requirements, general
^ Central locking (CL) unlocked and
^ function activated with instrument cluster (A1) or left front door central locking interior actuation switch (S85/5)
Automatic locking, general
The vehicle is automatically locked under certain conditions.
The automatic locking function comprises the following partial functions:
^ Function sequence for locking, depending on vehicle speed
^ Function sequence for automatic relocking
Function sequence for automatic relocking
The vehicle is locked depending on the vehicle speed:
- Vehicle speed v > 3 km/h:
Locking trunk lid (model 204.0) or tailgate (model 204.2)
- Vehicle speed v > 15 km/h:
Additionally locking doors
The electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) recognizes if the limit values are exceeded by evaluating the speed signals from the instrument cluster and transmits the command "Lock" to the:
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
- Left front door control unit (N69/1)
- Right front door control unit (N69/2)
They then lock the following components:
- Left front door lock (A85)
- Right front door lock (A85/1)
- Left rear door lock (A85/3)
- Right rear door lock (A85/4)
On vehicles for Great Britain, the left front rear door lock is actuated by the left rear door control unit (N69/3) and the right front rear door lock is actuated by the right rear door control unit (N69/4).
Opening the trunk lid with the trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8) (on model 204.0) or the tailgate with the tailgate external operation switch (S88/8) (on model 204.2) is suppressed by the rear SAM control unit.
The vehicle can be unlocked by opening a door from the inside or with the central locking interior actuation switches
If the vehicle is unlocked with the central locking interior actuation switches, it also remains unlocked at speeds above the corresponding limit.
The vehicle is returned to the initial state when one of the doors is opened or circuit 15 is switched on and off again.
If a door is opened while driving and then closed again, and the vehicle speed is above the limit for automatic locking, the door is locked again after it is closed.
Additional function requirements for automatic relocking
^ Central locking (CL) unlocked with transmitter key (A8/1)
Function sequence for automatic relocking
After the vehicle is unlocked with the transmitter key, a waiting time of t = 40 s starts.
After expiration of this waiting time, the vehicle is relocked if a door or the trunk lid has not been opened previously.
Visual feedback is not performed.
The anti-theft alarm (ATA) (on vehicles with code (551) Antitheft alarm (ATA)) is also activated by the relocking function.
