AZ88.00-P-0001-02CW Converting Front Bumper

Check components removed from standard bumper before assembly and replace if damaged.

Pay attention to paint damage.







1. Insert sheet metal nuts for front fog lamps (3) (8 each) and air ducting grate (4) (6 each) on right and left into front bumper paneling (1) (see picture).







2. Insert upper basic carrier (5) on right and left into front bumper paneling (1).

The upper basic carrier (5) should arrest properly in the front bumper paneling (1).

3. Position stiffening bracket (7) on right and left on upper basic carrier (5) and fasten with two blind rivets (6) each.







4. Insert sheet metal rail (8) on right and left between front bumper paneling (1) and upper basic carrier (5) and fasten with two blind rivets (6) each.







5. Fasten upper basic carrier (5) on right and left to front bumper paneling (1) with one blind rivet (6) each.







6. Insert wheelhouse cover (9) on right and left into front bumper paneling (1) and fasten with one blind rivet (6) each.

The wheelhouse cover (9) should arrest properly in the front bumper paneling (1) (see arrows).







7. Insert center air inlet grate (10) from rear into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.
8. Insert center air inlet grate covers (11) from rear into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.

The center air inlet grate (10) and the center air inlet covers (11) should arrest correctly in the front bumper paneling (1).







9. Insert bottom basic carrier (12) into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.

The lower basic carrier (12) should arrest properly in the front bumper paneling (1).







Vehicles with Parktronic system (PTS) code 220

10.1. Clip outer left front PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/1), center left front distance sensor (B8/2), inner left front distance sensor (B8/3), inner right front distance sensor (B8/4), center right front distance sensor (B8/5) and outer right front distance sensor (B8/6) into brackets on front bumper paneling (1).

Previously check whether a decoupling ring (transparent silicon ring) is installed on the PARKTRONIC distance sensors.

11.1. Route PTS wiring harness into front bumper paneling (1) as shown and fasten to specified attachment points (circles).

12.1. Arrest PARKTRONIC front bumper electrical connector (X26/27) to upper basic carrier (5) on right.







13. Insert outer air inlet grate (20) on right and left into front bumper paneling (1) from front, align and fasten with three 3.5 x 22 round head hex bolts (21).

Tighten sheet metal screws (21) to torque of 1.2 Nm.







14. Insert impact absorber bracket (17) behind front fog lamp on left and right (E5/2) (see bottom picture).

The impact absorber bracket (17) should be installed in front of the left and right front fog lamps (E5/2).

15. Insert left and right front fog lamp (E5/2) into front bumper paneling (1) from rear, align at chrome ring on outer air inlet grate (20) and fasten with four 3.5 x 22 round head hex bolts (19).

Position front fog lamp as shown in upper picture and carefully insert into bracket.

The adjusting screw should be positioned at bottom.

Tighten round head hex bolts 3.5x9,5 (19) to torque of 3.0 Nm.







16. Insert impact absorber (16) into front bumper paneling (1) and upper basic carrier (5) on left and right and arrest.

Arrest impact absorber (16) properly into front bumper paneling (1) and upper basic carrier (5).







17. Insert basic carrier reinforcement (26) into front bumper paneling (1) on right and left and upper basic carrier (5) and arrest.

The basic carrier reinforcements (26) should arrest properly in the front bumper paneling (1) and upper basic carriers (5) (see arrows).







18. Insert HCS cover (14) on right and left into front bumper paneling (1) from front and install bearing guides on HCS cover (14) on outer journals (see arrows).
19. Install HCS springs (headlamp cleaning system) (15) on inner journals on right and left.

Ensure that HCS cover (14) is seated correctly on front bumper paneling (1).







20. Position license plate frame (25) outside of front bumper paneling (1) and prepare for assembly.

Use license plate frame (25) as template for marking holes. The distances (a and b) between the license plate frame (25) and the measuring points should be equal. The inner ultrasonic sensors, distance (a) (left picture) and center edge of the front bumper paneling (1), distance (b) (center picture), serve as measuring points depending on the equipment. Align license plate frame (25) along contour of front bumper paneling (1) (right picture).

21. Drill four holes for installation license plate frame (25) and fasten license plate frame (25) to front bumper paneling (1) using four bolts.

Tighten bolts only with screwdriver.

22. Hook check strap on towing eye cover (18) into front bumper paneling (1) (see arrow).
23. Insert towing eye cover (18) into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.

The towing eye cover (18) should arrest correctly in the front bumper paneling (1).
