GF80.61-P-3012CW Engine Start/Stop, Function

GF80.61-P-3012CW Engine Start/Stop, Function
- with CODE (889) Keyless Go

Function requirements:
^ Keyless go system (KG) functioning

Function sequence for start/stop engine, general

The function sequence consists of several subfunctions. These are:
^ Start engine
^ Circuit activation
^ Stopping engine

Start engine

Function requirements
^ The transmitter key (A8/1) is located in the vehicle interior
^ The electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) is in the "P" or "N" position.
^ Foot brake actuated (signal from electronic stability program control unit (N30/4))

Function sequence for starting engine
When the KEYLESS GO start/stop button (S2/3) is pressed, the signal "Start engine" is transmitted to the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73). It transmits the signal to the KEYLESS GO control unit (N69/5) via interior CAN.

It then transmits the wake-up and location finding signals to the transmitter key via the
^ Left rear door KEYLESS GO antenna(A2/39)
^ Right rear door KEYLESS GO antenna(A2/41)
^ Trunk Keyless Go antenna (A2/35)
^ Interior Keyless Go antenna (A2/61)

The transmitter key transmits its access authorization code and its position to the TV 2 and KEYLESS GO antenna amplifier (A94/2), which relays it to the KEYLESS GO control unit. The access authorization code is transmitted to the electronic ignition lock control unit via interior CAN. If it is valid and the transmitter key is located in the interior compartment, circuit 15 is switched on and the engine started.

Error messages in instrument cluster (A1):
^ If a transmitter key is not recognized in the interior compartment when starting, the instrument cluster indicates "Key not recognized" and the start attempt is interrupted (circuit 15R and circuit 15 remain off).
^ If the electronic selector lever module is not in position "P" or "N" when the engine is started, a chime sounds and a corresponding text appears in the instrument cluster.

Each time the vehicle is started or if a door is opened with the engine running, the electronic ignition lock control unit requests the KEYLESS GO control unit to check the transmitter key. If a transmitter key is not recognized in the interior compartment, the instrument cluster indicates: "Key not recognized". In this case it is possible to switch off the engine, however, it cannot be started.

Circuit activation

Function requirement
^ The transmitter key is located in the vehicle interior

Function sequence for circuit activation
If the foot brake is not depressed when the KEYLESS GO start/ stop button is actuated, only circuit 15R is switched on. Repeated actuation activates circuit 15. Further repeated actuation switches circuit 15R and circuit 15 off. If the driver door is closed, circuit 15C remains active for t = 30 min.

Function sequence for stopping engine
When the KEYLESS GO start/stop button is pressed, the signal "Stop engine" is transmitted to the electronic ignition lock control unit and then the engine is switched off via circuit 15. If the driver door is closed, circuit 15C remains active for t = 30 min.

Switching off engine depending on vehicle speed:
^ Speed below 3 km/h: Switch off occurs immediately
^ Speed above 3 km/h: Switch off occurs only after pressing KEYLESS GO start/stop button for an extended period (t > 3 s)
