A microwave sensor is installed in the interior motion sensor transmitter and receiver (A26/14). The microwave sensor operates as motion detector.
When operating, it transmits (randomly aimed) microwaves through the vehicle interior.It receives, amplifies and finally evaluates the signals reflected with a micro controller. The alarm decision is made on the basis of the duration and speed of the movement.

The interior protection (IP) is activated for approx. 10 s after the vehicle is locked. Alarm actuation is evaluated by the rear SAM control unit (N10/8).
