AR41.10-P-0086-03R Correcting Front Inclination Angle at Transmission

AR41.10-P-0086-03R Correcting front inclination angle at transmission

Engine mount, engine support (engine side):

Correct the front inclination angle (1)
For inclination angle correction at the engine crossmember or at the rear engine mount, mount shop-made shims.

A 1 mm thick shim changes the inclination angle by approx. 0.17 degrees.
When using shims > 2 mm thick, increase the bolt length by 5 mm.

If a shim > 5 mm thick is required, check the front engine mount and rear engine mount for signs of settling or wear and replace if necessary.

Component Identification:

1 Detach retaining bracket (39) for lower engine compartment paneling.
2 Support transmission L sing transmission jack and transmission platform.
3 Detach rear engine crossmember (37).
4 Depending on the correction, insert shop-made shims between the rear engine crossmember (37) and frame floor or between the rear engine mount and rear engine crossmember (37).

The dimension for the shims must be taken from the corresponding part, see following example illustrations.

5 Mount rear engine crossmember (37).
6 Remove transmission jack and transmission platform.
7 Mount retaining bracket (39) for lower engine compartment paneling.

Rear engine crossmember:
