GF32.50-P-4233R ABC Level Adjustment Switch, Component Description

GF32.50-P-4233R ABC level adjustment switch, component description
- with CODE (487) Active body control (ABC)
- as of 1.3.06 up to model year 08

Component Identification:

Location

The level adjustment switch is a component of the lower control panel control unit (N72).

Task/function

With the level adjustment switch, the driver can choose between normal level (NN), a raised level (EN1) and the highest level (EN2). The level is displayed by two function LEDs in the level adjustment switch.

The instrument cluster (A1) stores the driver request in EEPROM. After restart, the same driver request applies as before ignition "OFF".

Speed-dependent level lowering applies to the raised levels (and normal level).

The current driver request is indicated by two function LEDs as soon as the engine is running.

Evaluation of the button position and actuation of the function LED is not performed directly by the ABC control unit, but by the lower control panel control unit.

The lower control panel control unit places the current button position on Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B).

The EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) (gateway function) transmits this information to Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C). The ABC control unit has to set the relevant bits in the communication matrix to actuate the LEDs.
