Pressure Regulating Solenoid: Description and Operation

GF27.19-P-5111-01A Control solenoid valve, task
- TRANSMISSION 722.9
- Control solenoid valve working pressure

Component Identification:

The working pressure control solenoid valve (VGS) (Y3/8y1) is actuated by the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4) and influences the position of the working pressure regulating valve. The working pressure depends on the regulating valve position and thus on the geometry of the working pressure regulating valve.

The working pressure control solenoid valve (VGS) (Y3/8y1) has a lowering characteristic. This means that the oil pressure applied in the working pressure regulating valve reduces as the actuating current increases. In limp-home mode of the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) all the control solenoid valves are deenergized. The working pressure control solenoid valve (VGS) (Y3/8y1) thus supplies maximum pressure.
