AR27.60-P-0990T Remove/Install and Set Shift Rod







Remove/Install

Danger:
- Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

NOTE:
- The vehicle must be horizontal
- Park vehicle on two or four-column lift platform or over inspection pit.

1 Move selector lever to position "D".
2 Remove bottom section of soundproofing capsule

NOTE: Only rear part.

3 Unclip locking plate (1a) and detach shift rod (2) at range selector lever (3).

NOTE: Use a screwdriver to release plates.

4 Remove locking plate (1) and detach shift rod (2) at intermediate lever (4).

NOTE: Remove locking plate from shift rod by pulling vertically downwards with needle nose pliers.

5 Take out shift rod (2).

Inspecting

6 Inspect locking plates (1a, 1b) and bushes (5).

NOTE: Inspect for wear and deformation, if necessary: Install new locking plates and bushes.

7 Install in the reverse order

Adjusting

8 Unscrew grub screw (6) from rod head (7).
9 Move selector lever and range selector lever (3) into position "D".
10 Screw new grub screw (6) into rod head (7).

NOTE: Counterhold (7) rod head when tightening grub screw. Do not move range selector lever (3) and intermediate lever (4) from position "D".
