Component Identification:





Task
The electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) receives digital and analog input signals, converts these and actuates various components or transmits information to various control units via the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C).

The selector lever positions and touch shifts performed are recognized without contact using the opto-electronic switches. A photoelectric barrier is closed or interrupted each time the position of the selector lever is changed.

Internal input signals:

^ Transmission mode switch (S16/5)

^ Voltage supply

Internal output signals:
^ R/P locking solenoid
^ Shift gate illumination (circuit 58d)

Instrument cluster (A1)
^ Circuit 58 dimmed

ESP, SPS [PML] and BAS control unit (N47-5) (model 211), ESP control unit (N47-5) (model 219)
^ Wheel speed and direction, right rear
^ Wheel speed and direction, left rear
^ Set braking torque

for EIS control unit (N73)
^ Circuit 50
^ Tml.15
^ Stop light switch (S9/1)
^ Stop lamp feedback
^ Initialization, personalization, authenticity for stage 3 drive authorization system (DAS 3)

Central gateway control unit (N93)
^ Diagnosis request

^ Selector lever position for gear display (A1 p12)

CDI control unit (N3/9), with OM 642, OM 629
^ Selector lever position "P", "N"

ME control unit (N3/10), except OM 642, OM 629

for EIS control unit (N73)
^ Selector lever position for actuation of backup lamp
^ Drive authorization system 3 messages (enable request)
