Suspension - Front End Creaking/Rumbling Noises

Complaint:

The noise occurs when driving over uneven ground!

The noise can also be reproduced by rocking the vehicle at the front axle - see attachment (01.mpg).

cause:

One possible cause of the noise is relative movement of the stop buffer.

Remedy:

1. Raise vehicle at front axle.

2. Pull down stop buffer with boot.

3. Lightly grease pistion rod with lubricant.

4. Grease upper contact surface of buffer and pot bearing well (see Figure 2)

5. Push stop buffer with boot back up to original position.

6. Lower vehicle.
