As of Model Year 2007, Equipped with Cellular Telephone System Driver Cannot Hear the Calling Party During a Hands-Free Call or Calling Party Volume Very Low

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the driver cannot hear the calling party during a hands-free conversation, this maybe due to the Multiple Handset Interface (MHI) N123/1 microphone array being incorrectly set to "not present". To resolve, code the MHI to a two-microphone arrangement as follows.

^ Connect a battery charger, turn engine and all electrical consumers OFF.

^ Start DAS --> Information and Communication --> Audio, video, Navi and Telematics --> CTEL - mobile phone adapter with universal interface and select Version 1 (new) referring to the mirror with 2 microphones

^ Proceed to: Control units --> Control unit adaptations --> read coding and change if necessary --> vehicle-specific settings --> under the microphone quantity, select "2 As of modification year 06/1", --> F3... F3 again now the system will process the audio using the two microphones.

^ Follow the DAS prompts to transfer the coding to the control unit ... restart the optical ring after you complete the coding steps.

Note:
If you are unsure how many microphones, refer to figures 1 and 2 above. Figure 1 illustrates the 2-microphone arrangement above the mirror and figure 2 shows the 4-microphone arrangement.
