AR35.20-P-0113T Remove/Install Thrust Arm
DANGER
- Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
CAUTION:
- While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surface of all aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected

NOTE: Installation: Tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components only in curb condition.
1 Empty rear air springs using STAR DIAGNOSIS
- With Airmatic, code (489a)
CAUTION: Installation: Always fill the rear air springs in the KO position otherwise they will be irreparably damaged!
2 Remove rear wheel
3 Remove underbody paneling (16).
NOTE: Only left or right rear part.
4 Unscrew bolt (1c) and remove washer (1e).
5 Raise wheel carrier (7) using transmission jack and transmission platform until rear axle shaft (37) is roughly horizontal
6 Detach thrust arm (5) from wheel carrier (7)
CAUTION: Installation: The rear axle shaft must be approximately horizontal when tightening the bolted connection.
7 Detach thrust arm (5) from rear axle carrier (1)
CAUTION: Installation: The rear axle shaft must be approximately horizontal when tightening the bolted connection.
8 Remove thrust arm cover (5g).
9 Install in the reverse order
10 Carry out chassis alignment check.
